Bukit Tabur consist of 5 hills/peaks which are Bukit Tabur Far East, Bukit Tabut Extreme, Bukit Tabur East, Bukit Tabur West and Bukit Tabur Extra. However, this article is a review about Bukit Tabur Far East only. Bukit Tabur Far East situated near to a construction site behind Zoo Negara (use Waze or Google Maps).
Here are some items that you should bring along:
1. Torch light - If you plan to climb before sunrise
2. Mineral Water - Compulsory, stay hydrated
3. Snacks - Queuing to climb the hill might take some time, so please bring some foods.
4. Shoes with strong grip - The trail is full of sharp stones, please do not use slippers.
Time to reach the peak: 30 minutes (if there are many other climbers) to 45 minutes
Total time for round-trip: 1.5 hours

Among the 5 hills, Bukit Tabur Far East is the easiest one but has the second most beautiful views at the peak after Bukit Tabur Extreme. To climb the hill, you have to go through a jungle track and a bushy trail. When you are about to reach the peak, the rocky trail is quite tough so you need to climb one by one using the ropes. Please be careful in this situation.
At the top of the hill you can see the Klang Gates quartz ridge and Kuala Lumpur city. If you're lucky enough and reach the peak in the early morning, you can enjoy a gorgeous misty view.Anyway, there are a lot of dogs along the trails and at the peak. Although the dogs seem to be not disturbing the climbers but please be careful with it.
As Bukit Tabur Far East is one of the most popular spots for hiking activities, the routes might be crowded with peoples. You would need to wait your turn for other climber to climb up the hill especially at rocky part.
